U7 Red Round 13

13th July 12:43 pm

Result: Loss 2-3 v Normanhurst

Pitching up on a chilly Winter’s morning the boys were ready for a great match. The Pumas did well and had a couple of near misses. Most notable were Sam’s who almost netted the ball twice – he will be scoring soon. Jenetzen played very well in defence and hung back to ensure very few of the opposition’s balls got through. Harry had some fantastic kick-ins and has grown in confidence. Matthew’s tackling was really good and he made some great clearances. Scoring two goals, Ryan did some great dribbling between Normanhurst. Fletcher was thoughtful (as always) as he got around some players with great footwork. Jesse had a good solid game, anticipating the passes from the other team and making some great intercepts. Well tried boys, it was a good close game that could have gone either way. Normanhurst was a strong team with very good defence with one of their players in goals most of the time which we discourage our players from doing.

Man of the Match: Ryan for scoring two goals.

Result: 1-0 Win v Thornleigh B

The boys had a great game on Saturday, possession was theirs for most of the first half with many goal attempts from most of the team.

The boys are really playing as a team supporting each other and remembering things they are taught at training.

Man of the match went to Samuel for such a great improvement in his game.

The winning goal was scored by Jesse in the closing minutes. Jesse always gives his best and continually thinks strategically.

Well done boys on another great win.

Well what an interesting match, the boys played their hearts out and tried hard right to the end. Jesse played a great game being strong in defense and passing well. Jentezen as always was a solid player contributing with some hard kicks and good clearances. Despite battling to breath, Harry was tenacious and chased some good balls with almost scoring on occasion. Ryan scored a great goal and made some good tackles. At one point Matthew dribbled a long way up the field and almost scored. Sam displayed some skillful footwork and dribbled past a few players. Fletcher had a fantastic game with two beautiful goals and solid kicking. Redfield had some great players and overall it was a lovely game.

Man of the Match: Fletcher for scoring two goals and being incredibly brave after a ball hit him in the face.

West Pennant Hills Vs PHD Under 7 Red @ Cherrybrook Public School

Result: 3-2

The boys had a great first game although the score doesn’t reflect how hard
they played.

We had no subs and the 5 boys on the park put in 100% for the entire game.

They were thinking as a team with lots of great instruction from Jesse and
Ryan.

Harry had a great game and was player of the week. He chased the ball well
and set up a lovely goal for Matt, off a kick in from Jentezen.

He performed some well executed tackles in the second half.

Jentezen was confident moving forward and getting into the action up front.
He had fantastic ball control and a great goal attempt.

Matt wasn’t afraid to put his body on the line with a lovely slide tackle.
He had great ball control and went for a good run with the ball.

Ryan had a few goal attempts and scored an awesome goal in the second half.
He communicated well through out the game.

Jesse went for nice run the full length of the field, he was always part of
the action. He thought well and had great communication instructing his
team mates during the game.

Sam was a great support from the sideline cheering his team on, we are
looking forward to having him back from injury next week.
