Week 15 (8 Aug)
RESULT: WIN 9-1
SCORERS: Jesse 3, Jentezen 2, Matthew 2, Fletcher 1, Ryan 1
The boys had a fantastic game. They kept their heads and played really well. There was some good passes for their age that resulted in goals and a number of near misses. Jesse played really well with good positioning and anticipation, resulting in his 3 goals. Caleb played his heart out never being afraid to tackle and not crowding his own players when they had the ball. Jentezen as always gave a great deal of thought to positioning himself which not only resulted in two goals but also in good defending. Ryan had a good game with some near misses. He ran back well to defend and had good kick in to Jesse that resulted in the first goal. Fletcher had one goal disallowed as it was from a cracking kick off without it touching another player. Another of his attempts just missed but he managed to score a great goal to make up for it all. Matthew’s game has lifted tremendously over last few weeks. He scored one beautiful goal by dribbling it for quite a way and calmly slotting it in. The Cherrybrook team had a fantastic back player that ensured not all our boys got through. One of his kicks almost took out the referee. Overall the boys had fun and all of them had a great attitude. Well done boys!!!

Scorers Jentezen 1 + Fletcher 1
The boys were kept very busy today running all over the field. Matthew took a couple of great corners. Jesse put a lot of pressure on the Thornleigh players which resulted in them missing the goal on several occaisons. The boys kept the ball up their end of the field for a large part of the first half of the game. Jentezen was first to score this week . This was followed by Thornleigh scoring before half time leaving the score at 1 all at the break. Jesse tackled a Thornleigh player and won the ball - well done Jesse. Fletcher scored the winning goal today kicking the ball from before the half way line. All the spectators watching were amazed as the ball just kept on rolling until it finally made its way into the goal. Fletcher was man of the match today.

(27 June)

Todays game was very different for the boys starting from the kick off as we only had 3 boys on the field and one on his way. Normanhurst very kindly also started the game with only 3 boys on the field ( They had 3 on the side line to sub on + off ) meaning that it was an even competition. Normanhurst were the first to score. Jesse took a corner and kicked to Jentezen who narrowly missed the goal. Jesse then evened up the score line. Next it was our Goalie in training - Jentezen who ran the length of the field to at the last minute stop Normanhurst from scoring. Matthew was unlucky not to score after he dribbled the ball down the field but shot just to the right of the goal. Normanhurst scored the next 2 goals with the score 1 to 3 against us at half time. Caleb added to the score line in the second half. Matthew did some great tackling. Both Caleb and Jesse narrowly missed the goal on a couple of occaisons. Normanhurst finished the scoring today adding 2 more goals to their tally. This was Under 6 Reds first loss of the season.

(20 June)

We arrived at Oakleigh Oval to find a wet ground but with a blue sky above and a few clouds in sight we were all looking forward to watching the days game. The game however was only 10 minutes long and was abandoned due to the rain ! Just after kick off Jesse was able to find the net. Jentezen was next to score after intercepting the ball following their goal line kick off. Ryan then went for a run with the ball from half way down the field and scored the third goal of the game. Jesse followed on from Ryans lead and also went for a run half the lenghth of the field but Pennant Hills defence kept us out on this occaison.Ryan scored his second goal of the day in what were to be the dying minutes of the game for Pacific Hills to win 4 nil.

(13 June)
Win: 6 -1
Scorers Jesse 1, Caleb 1 + Ryan 4
The boys got off to a great start again today with Jesse scoring a goal in the few minutes of the game. Jesse was not well and only played for a few minutes before going home but we all appreciated the effort that he played with. The ball spent a lot of the first half near the Hawks goal and the boys had many near misses before Ryan was able to score 2 more goals to bring the score to 3 nil. Fletcher gave a long hard kick which just missed the goal. Caleb had a couple of attempts to find the back of the net with the ball just skimming the goal on the first attempt and then success. At half time the score was 4 nil. Coach Kim has been teaching the boys some moves that the boys have adopted with great results ! The second half saw Caleb have several more attempts to get the ball over the line. Ryan intercepted their goal line kick off and found the back of the net. Fletcher took a corner kick which he passed to Ryan and the score was now 6 nil. It was then the Hawks turn to get a goal . Jentezen kicked the ball in from the side line with perfect accuarcy and found the net but as it was not touched by any other players on the field it was not counted as a goal. Full time 6 -1. Matthew was the man of the match for some great tackling.

(30 May)

Hills Hawks were the first to score today. We managed to keep the ball up our half for most of the first half of the game. Matthew got his foot under the ball but narrowly missed the net. Jesse took the ball for a long run ,however it was Caleb who was first to score this week. The Hawks kicked the ball past all our boys except for Jentezen who, as our last line of defence, turned and took the ball all the way scoring our second goal of the day. Just before half time Ryan scored leaving the score at 3 to 1 at the break. Ryan opened the scoring in the second half scoring from a long shot. Jesse was next to add to the score after intercepting from their kick off. PHD were now up 5 to Hawks 1. The next goal was a great example of the boys passing between their team mates with Jentezen taking the ball down the field and passing to Jesse who found the back of the net. Ryan added another 2 goals to the score and then Jesse scored the final goal of the day with the score line at full time a 9 to 1 win to our boys.

Week 4 (16 May)
RESULT: Win 7-0
Scorers: Ryan 4, Caleb 1, Fletcher 1, Jentezen 1
What a windy day on a high unprotected ground but that didnt effect the boys game at all. The boys are getting stronger, more focused and more skilled each week. Ryan made many breaks with the ball this week, he showed great ball control and was rewarded with 4 goals and several near misses. Caleb unfortunately had the ball connect with his face in the early minutes of the game but he perserved and was rewarded early in the second half ( after intercepting the ball) with a goal. The boys had some strong kick- ins from the side line this week and it was from one of these that Jentezen went on to score his goal. Later in the game Jentezen was very quick taking a kick in, WPH was caught unaware, and Ryan went on to score his 2nd goal. Great play Jentezen. Matthew kicked a beautiful ball across the face of the goal but unfortunately this ball didnt find the net. Fletcher played a strong game ,attacking and also defending , and was able to find the back of the net. Man of the match this week - Ryan

Week 3 (9 May)
Result : Win 3-2
Scorers : Fletcher 2, Ryan 1
The second game of the season and yet another entertaining game. Fletcher soon after the start of the game opened the scoring with a big kick that found the net. The boys took turns this week in playing different roles. Jentezen again protected the goals for some of the game but he was assisted by Caleb and Fletcher who both saved goals and Ryan who did a spectacular slide tackle centimetres from the goal line to save a certain goal. Fletcher scored our second goal with a kick from before the middle of the field. There were several near misses from a couple of the boys including Matthew where the goals were just not wide enough but Ryan was able to find the back of the net to give us a 3 - 2 win. We are missing Jesse who has not been able to play either game and we hope he is able to play next week. Fletcher was Man of the Match this week.

Week 2 (2 May)
Result : Draw 3-3
Scorers: Ryan (3)
Well finally the first game of the season and this was a very entertaining game. Three boys on this team played last year and three boys are new to soccer this year. Ryan had several runs almost the length of the field which resulted in many near misses ( the goals are just not wide enough ) and 2 of the three goals he scored in this game. Whilst in this game the players dont have positions Jentezen was often noted to be protecting the goals - maybe he is a goalie in the making ! Caleb played a great attacking game and was Man of the Match this week.
