U12/5 vs Gladesville Sharks
Week 6 (1 Aug)
RESULT: Win 6-1
SCORERS: Tom Petschack (1) Joshua Scappa (1) David Uren (2) Thomas Churchill (2)
What an entertaining game it was this week. Pacific Hills had a great game with all of the team pulling together to achieve this great result.
The opposition nearly managed to get a couple of goals at the end of the first half. However, with a reminder from the coach at half time to not let the tiredness set in and that the game was far from over - the team really paid attention. Gladesville Sharks struggled with the team work that was put into action by Pacific Hills. A special mention goes to Sheridan who was our player of the week. Well done Sheridan, you had a great game.
We will now have to wait and see but it looks as though we could be off to the semi’s!!!!
Well done Pacific Hills- You deserve it.
U12/5 vs Pennant Hills
Week 1 (25 July)
RESULT: Win 2-1
SCORERS: Joshua Scappa (1) David Uren (1)
With a player down for the majority of the game Pacific Hills were able to secure a win.
It was nail biting towards the end with our team tiring and the ball in our half a little too often – we did not want another draw. Thankfully our defence was great and protected us yet again.
A special mention goes to Jordan Kracker our player of the week. As always Jordan was persistent in his defence. Well done Jordan. Also thank you to Nicholas Churchill who played up for the first half to help us out.
Well let’s hope we can win next week and maybe we can make it through to the semi finals!!
Well done again Pacific Hills.
U12/5 vs Redfield
Week 13 (11 July)
RESULT: Win 2-1
SCORERS: Joshua Scappa ( 2 )
With another ground change to contend with from Galston to Glenorie and only seven of our registered 12/5 team, it left the coach and manager on the day, a little nervous. Thankfully the Under 10 div 4’s and Under 9 div 3’s came to our rescue. With five borrowed players for the day, it turned the 12/ 5’s drawing streak into a 2-1 win.
The defense from Pacific Hills was outstanding in this game, with Riley Behlevanas (9/3’s)
in goals doing a great job, Redfield didn’t stand a chance. Emily Clancy as always wonderful in defense, was in top form and deservedly received the player of the week award.
David. Tom P, and Paul were all tireless in getting the ball back to the forwards. Tom C and Josh worked well up front – Josh great work getting two goals this week.
Our seven players on the field showed such perseverance- Nathaniel Zeckondorf would have left the field with an injury but knew we needed him to stay on – well done Nathaniel.
Lastly a big thank you to the players from other divisions who helped us out and to their parents for making the effort! Thank you Riley Behlevanas, Nicholas Churchill, Chris Rickard, Ben Luker and Jack Dickinson. Great work guys.
U12/5 vs Glenhaven
Week 11 (27 June)
RESULT: Draw 3-3
SCORERS: Thomas Churchill ( 1 ) Deflected ( 1 ) Joshua Scappa ( 1 )
A cloudy day saw the 12/5’s without Christine and Emily. With no reserves PHD took to the field and immediately showed effectiveness in their attack. Olly and Tom C fed the ball through to David and Josh. On occasions Glenhaven showed their strength and managed to get the first goal. Tom C responded with one of his making it 1-1.
Good defense from Jordan, Sherry, Tom P and Paul found the ball at the other end of the field. With relentless attack form our forwards the pressure mounted eventuating in a deflected ball off Glenhaven finding it’s way to the back of the net.
With Glenhaven working their reserve bench they gave Michael plenty to think about in goals. Michael gave his all throughout the game showing that he works well under pressure. That pressure was released on many occasions with good kicks putting defense into attack.
Courtney continually involved herself in the game not only showing courage and effectiveness in defense bur making herself available in unmarked space to take the ball up and into attack earning herself the player of the match trophy.
Nathaniel brought excitement to the game with a well thought plan to keep the score 2-3 to Glenhaven.
Josh showed his competitive nature and generous skill set to take the score to 3 all at the close of the game. A game that had it all ( including dogs ) with a great effort from the team playing as a team. Well done and if you keep it up the wins will come.
U12/5 vs Pennant Hills
Week 10 (20 June)
RESULT: Loss 1-3
SCORERS: David Uren ( 1 )
With Pacific Hills oval closed and our game moved to Morrison Bay 3, the conditions were very wet and soggy. PHCS dominated the first half however, that ball just couldn’t seem to get into the net. With the field very slippery and the ball heavy with water David Uren tried so hard, but with no luck. At half time it was nil all, by mid way through the second half we were down 2-1 and Josh Scappa who had been doing a great job in goals came out of goals to help the forwards but unfortunately it just wasn’t our day. Christine had a great game firstly in defence, then goalie for a short time. She was our player of the week- well done Christine.
It felt like a game we deserved to win with so many players giving their all- let’s hope next week the conditions will be better and their will be a well deserved win for the team. Christine is leaving us to go overseas for a holiday, we will miss you Christine and we hope you will get back for the end of the season.
U12/5 vs Roselea
Week 9 (13 June)
RESULT: Draw 4-4
SCORERS: Joshua Scappa ( 2 ) David Uren ( 2 )
Another nail biting game this week for the Division 5 team. As the coach said all the team played really well and it was unlucky we had a draw by the end of the game. Joshua Scappa who was our player of the week was outstanding up front, supported by David Uren. Thomas Churchill and Courtney George did a great job in goals this week, although a little reluctant to start off.
We were up 3-1 at half time, then the goals just seemed to go back and forth with Roselea scoring their 4th goal in the last 10 minutes of the game. It is great to see the improvement every week from this team, playing as a team and enjoying the game. Well done, another great game Pacific Hills.
U12/5 vs Holy Cross
Week 5 (May 16)
RESULT: WIN 2-1
SCORERS: Thomas Churchill ( 1 ) Joshua Scappa ( 1 )
Another great game by Pacific Hills. Our defence was very strong , along with Jordan Kracker doing a great job in goals for the entire game- it was wonderful team work. Our mid fielders were running hard and Oliver ( our man of the match ) did a fantastic job and just wouldn’t give up. All the team played well and all deserve a pat on the back, we are looking forward to watching this season unfold.
U12/5 vs Glenhaven
Week 2 (18 Apr)
RESULT: Win 2-1
SCORERS: Joshua Scappa ( 1 ) Thomas Churchill ( 1 )
This was a great effort for our first game of the season, against one of the best teams in the competition. Our defence was strong and we had lots of opportunities to score. It was a tiring game as there were no reserves to call on. Paul did a wonderful job in goals and deserved the player of the week trophy. We look forward to the season ahead.
