Pennant playoff week 1 - 4/8/07
Boys disappointed at not being able to play today due to forfeit by opposition– however the day after ski camp it may be just as well !

U16/2 lose 0-4 vs Gladesville Ravens
Game 10 28/7/07 (postponed from 16/6/07)
The first half we held well and were as competitive as our opponents. Things were not as cohesive in the second half as was reflected in the score despite again our many shots at goal.

U16/2 lose 2-3 vs Hills Hawks
Game 9 21/7/09 (postponed from 9/6/07)
SCORERS: Andrew Clark, Joshua Howard
Great performances early on saw Andrew and Josh score well. Despite many many more fervent shots at goal and each player playing with great determination the ball just did not want to go in again.

Game 14 14/7/07
Not quite as exciting as last week – again down to 10 players we were very pleased to have the assistance of our u 13-2 players, Kristian, Lochie and Nicky. Everyone played with great determination but it was not our day today. Roll on next week.

U16/2 lose 3-5 vs Dural United
Game 13 7/7/07
SCORERS: Lochie Weldon x2 , Jeremy Tam
This was one of the most entertaining games the sidelines have ever enjoyed. It was fast paced and full of action. Down to only 9 players we were thankful for our two last minute stand- ins - Lochie Weldon and Nicky Elliott who really rose to the occasion. Half way into the first half the score was two up to Dural. A phenomenal ducking and weaving run by Shannon saw the ball passed to Nicky and then to Lochie who placed it safely in the net. Our second goal was from a great corner from Sammy to Lochie who again managed to head the ball past a surprised goalie. I think these “little people” were under the opposition’s radar ! Dural scored again and then we were again evened by a brilliant goal from Jeremy over the goalies head. Courageous Matt saved many goals from one on one runs and Scott, James, Nicho, Andy and Marshall were all over the place ensuring the ball was pushed forward. A fantastic long side kick by Shannon was an absolutely sure goal as their goalie was out of the net until the edge of the goalpost meant the end score would be different to what we had hoped. Every person had played with such determination, purpose and skill and it was a real pleasure to watch. The Referee commended our team for the way they had played which was a great rap and we really felt like we were the winners anyway!

Another hard game – teams were quite even – unable to convert from opportunities we had.

U16/2 lose 1-2 vs Pennant Hills
Game 7 26/5/07
SCORERS: Joshua Nicholson 1,
We played very well today but our opposition had a very tight defense and we had trouble getting through.. The goal score again did not portray the game. Good to be commended by the Ref for playing the game with a good spirit. Next time we meet this top team it will be a different story.

Game 6 19/5/07

A tough game – we were well controlled in first half but things went astray towards the end – the score did not reflect the play

Game 5 12/5/07
U16/2 lose 0-2 vs West Ryde Rovers
Game 4 5/05/07
Two early goals for the opposition signaled a difficult match. No more goals were scored and our players were getting more and more frustrated. We will need a different plan of attack when we next meet WRR.

Game 3 - 28/4/07
SCORERS: Sammy Belmonte Jeremy Tam
A hard game and again some good team play was seen but not quite the same “on fire” as last week. Matt did a fantastic job many times over in saving many more goal attempts – well backed up by Jorge on one occasion inside the goal. Well done to Sammy for completing the first goal after many tries and saves right in front of goal. Also to Jeremy who scored near the end of the second half – time beat us from scoring an equalizer after Nicho suffered an injured ankle – he had been instrumental in many clearing tackles up till then – same can be said for Ayrton, Luke P, Scott, Andy and Marshall. Good to have Shannon back to chase those fast players and Luke S had some great attempts at goal after speedy runs up the sideline. Josh H had another brilliant great but thwarted attempt at goal – that is twice in two weeks. We await next week where we will be back at Meadowbank.

Game 2 - 21/4/07

U16/2 lose 1-2 vs Epping-Eastwood
Game 1 - 14/4/7
Our team worked well together today despite having no breaks. Yet again many of our many goal shots only just missed or rebounded from the posts.. Many headers were seen – the sideline winches every time – the one from James just near the goal should have been in except for their excellent goalie. There was great passing and entertaining team play and Andy did a great job in goals. Our one goal that achieved it mark was a cross from Jeremy to goals which their goalie saved and then let bounce. Marshall seized the moment and kicked it in. We are looking forward to next week.
