A solid 6 – 0 win today over Normanhurst who for the first few minutes looked like they could be a bit of a threat, but a few key adjustments to our positioning put a swift end to that. Our team played a tremendous game, as usual, even though we only had 11 players. We started with 12, but lost Matt Fawcett to a hamstring injury after his first kick, which meant there were no reserves. This didn’t hold our team back and they went on to score 2 in the first half and another 4 in the second. Man of the match went to Campbell who played a terrific game – well done Campbell.

A top win today over West Ryde Rovers 4 – 2. A bit of a slow start to the game on our part saw the opposition score their first goal in the first 5 minutes. After that shake up our boys really lifted their game starting with easily the best individual goal anyone has seen from Joshua. He skirted the ball around at least 6 of the opposition and scored! They came back at us with one more and the pressure was on. Nick scored one for us when we were awarded a penalty and then another with a great header, making it 3-2 at half time.
A great goal in the second half from Matt Pittman saw the game well and truly won with a very relieved stand-in coach.

A meeting of the only 2 undefeated teams was always going to be another great game! I would like to say the sky was blue and I am sure that under the cloud covering it probably was, there was precipitation for most of the game and the wading birds were having fun on the other ovals in the complex. The ground was very wet, the ball slippery but the team played well. Congratulations to Alex Brims our player of the match. Thank you to all our players for an exciting game and to the parents holding umbrellas on the sidelines for being there.
