Pennant playoff week 1 - 4/8/07
SCORERS: Jordan Soliman 2, Joshua McAdam 2, Adil Baccus 2, Harry Rivers 1
A great game today guys, 7 nil over Glenhaven. The most goals we have ever scored in any of our games so far which is terrific. We are well on our way to win the Pennant Medal! We had plenty of goal scoring and goal scoring opportunities that were missed, but still we managed 3 in the first half and four more in the second. Our thanks again to Harry Rivers from the 10/2’s who helped out again today as Brodie was away and as usual he did a great job. The whole team played an excellent game though it proved a little on the boring side for the goalies and our backs who didn’t have a lot to do this game. Well done to Joshua McAdam who was made Man of the Match for some great goals today. The only down side to today was that Jordan mislaid his goalie gloves, so if any were picked up or found please let me know.

Game 10 28/7/07 (postponed from 16/6/07)
SCORERS: Jadon Goh 2, Joshua McAdam 2, Joshua Scheuber 1, Harry Rivers 1
Another win to the 11/5’s in the last game of the Premiership Round – 6 nil over Glenhaven. We almost had our full team with the exception of Adam who was off with an injured toe but we were fortunate enough to be able to borrow Harry Rivers from the 10/2’s who did a brilliant job in the forward line, thanks Harry.
The goals came thick and fast in the first half, two from Jadon and one each from Joshua McAdam and Joshua Scheuber. Harry came up with the fourth in the second half followed closely by another from Joshua Mc. Unfortunately Glenhaven haven’t had a good run this season so hopefully things will turn out better for them next year. We have finished 5th on the table, not a bad position considering the mixed results we have had during the season. We now look forward to winning the Pennant! Man of the Match went to Travis who played a fantastic game – well done Travis.

Game 9 21/7/09 (postponed from 9/6/07)
SCORERS: Brodie Green 1
Another great win today 1 – nil over North Epping Rangers. Once again we were short of players and had to borrow two little superstars from the 9/6’s, “Pocket Rocket” Joshua Pretorius and “Braveheart” William Wallace, two marvellous little players – thanks heaps guys for your help The whole team played an excellent game which took us to nil all at half time. The second half was very exciting and I think we would have been happy with a draw until a magic goal from Brodie just before full time saw the game won. The boys came off the pitch looking very pleased with themselves and so they should, it was a great game to watch. Man of the Match went to Calvin who played a tremendous game today – well done Calvin.

Game 14 14/7/07
SCORERS: Harry Rivers (3), Charlie Witt (1), Kadison Danckert (1)
Well we had a lot more fun this week than last – a nice win over Epping Eastwood of 5 nil. As we could only field 7 of our own players we had to borrow from the 10/2’s who loaned us 5 players, Harry, Charlie, Matthew, Christopher and Kadison – thanks so much guys, we couldn’t have done it without you. They came all the way from Epping to Putney to help us out and it was very much appreciated. The first half saw 3 goals, one each from Harry, Charlie and Kadison. The second half saw 2 more from Harry and it was game over. Much confusion reigned just before the start of the match with the opposition turning up at the Pacific Hills ground claiming they had not been told of the change of venue to Morrison Bay. The upshot was they all arrived late and we had to play a short game of only 21 minutes each half. It was still a great game nonetheless and Man of the Match went to Jordan for some determined and enthusiastic play.

U11/5 lose 0-11 vs Thornleigh

Game 13 7/7/07
Our biggest loss of the season today – an 11 nil drubbing by Thornleigh who fielded an excellent team today, more like a division 2 team that division 5! Their first goal was scored in about 30 seconds and the others followed in rapid succession, 5 in the first half and 6 more in the second. To his credit Jadon offered to go goalie in the second half and did quite a good job as well, but there was no holding Thornleigh back, they were just too good. This earned Jadon the Man of the Match trophy for trying a different (and difficult) position against such a strong opposition. Nice try Jadon!

U11/5 win 2-1 vs Normanhurst

Game 12 30/6/07
SCORERS: JOSHUA MCADAM, JORDAN SOLIMAN

At last a win 2 -1 over Normanhurst, not just a win but an awesome win. We managed to beat a full team of 11 with only 8 players – amazing. Most of us thought we couldn’t really win this match, but the coach had other ideas. Everyone deserves a mention – Adam, Nicholas, Travis, Jordan, Brodie, Joshua B. Joshua Mc. and Mitchell – for an outstanding game.
The opposition scored the first goal when Adam came off for water for his split lip (which resulted from a ball hitting him full in the face). The next thing we knew the ball was at our net with only Nicholas there to defend, so unfortunately they scored. But that didn’t put our guys off, Joshua Mc. broke away with the ball and ran like the wind with it and smashed it into their goal – one all – we were ecstatic A change of goalie in the second half brought Jordan out onto the field and he did the same thing – so we were 2 – 1 up. We managed to hold Normanhurst off until full time and our boys came off the field to a standing ovation – magic!
Can’t say how much we all enjoyed today, it was fantastic and just the boost our boys needed. Man of the match went to Travis who played a brilliant game – well done Travis. And of course many thanks to our stand in coach Brian – great job!

U11/5 lose 0-6 vs Epping YMCA

Game 11 23/6/07
Another disappointment for us today – a 6 nil loss to Epping YMCA. We hardly stood a chance with only 8 players (two of which had the flu). But anyway, those who were there took the field with enthusiasm and actually played a very good game given that they had little or no chance of scoring anything. But of course they were just so outnumbered that (lots of) goals against us were inevitable. The opposition scored 3 in the first half and 3 more in the second. To their credit Epping YMCA were a excellent team with a great attitude from all, including their parents, who were very sympathetic to our plight
A sterling effort all round boys, in particular Jordan who really had his job cut out for him today. Man of the match was given to Mitchell who played an excellent game – well done Mitchell.

U11/5 lose 1-3 vs Roselea

3rd June 8:51 pm

Game 8 2/6/07
SCORERS: JADON GOH
Another loss today, 3- 1 to Roselea. Half time saw the opposition leading 1 nil. Things were looking up in the second half when Jadon scored a great goal making it 1 all – many cheers from the crowd for that one! Unfortunately Jordan went down with a kick to the kneecap after making a great save, but he shook himself off and went straight back into goal. The opposition then took the opportunity to head the ball over everyone’s heads making it 2-1. A final goal late in the second half saw the score at 3-1.
Man of the match went to Adil who was unable to play in the goalie position today due to a sprained hand, but he did a great job on the field.

Game 7 26/5/07
Another loss today to Epping Eastwood 3 – nil. We went down two goals in the first half and one more in the second so it was pretty hard to make a comeback. Our forwards tried hard and managed to bring the ball up to their net a number of times but we just couldn’t get a good crack at it to score some much needed goals.
The team played well with some good work in the midfield from the Joshuas, Mitchell and Travis. Man of the match went to Joshua Scheuber for all his hard work. Well done Joshua.

Game 6 19/5/07
SCORERS: Jadon Goh
We came up against a tough and determined Thornleigh team today which unfortunately resulted in a 4-1 loss. Our boys all played a great game but found in very difficult to keep the opposition away from our goal which resulted in them scoring 2 in the first half. They came at us again in the second half with 2 more when Jadon broke through in the last few minutes to hit home our one and only goal. Our goalies Jordan and Adil were hard pushed today but they both did a tremendous job.
Man of the match went to Joshua McAdam who played a terrific game today – well done Joshua.

Game 5 12/5/07
SCORERS: Jadon Goh (2)
A great win today, 2-0 over the Normanhurst Eagles. I was wonderful to have a full team of 12 today and hopefully things will continue to run smoothly from now on. The team played extremely well with good positioning and passing which resulted in two early goals in the first half by Jadon. The opposition found it hard to make any real inroads after that and even though neither team scored in the second half our team was really trying and had several near misses.
Man of the match went to Adam for an excellent job in the fullback position along with Nicholas, Mitchell and Travis. You succeeded in keeping the opposition well away from our goal. Well done Adam.

Game 4 5/05/07
A great match today boys, pity it resulted in a 2-0 loss to Epping YMCA. We started the game with only 10 players which made it a bit tough on our boys and resulted in the opposition scoring their first goal. We were then very pleased to be able to add Mitchell Webb officially to our team (welcome Mitchell and Ray and Ann) and at half time things were looking better when Joshua Mc. arrived giving us 12.
The boys played hard in very warm and sunny conditions which made things a little bit more challenging for everyone. Jordan was our second half goalie and doing a great job until he collided with Adam when he came out for the ball. The opposition obviously took this opportunity to put the ball in the net, making it 2 nil. Our guys found it too difficult to make up ground after this.
The Man of the Match award went to Nicholas Keough for some great work in defence. Well done Nicholas. Also many thanks to Brian for filling in for Warren who couldn’t make it today.

28th April 10:14 pm

Game 3 - 28/4/07
SCORERS: Joshua Scheuber , Jadon Goh
Finally a win today over Glenhaven 2 nil. After playing with our numbers way down for the last 2 games, it was nice to see a full team this week (we even had a reserve!) with help from the two Mitchells – Peulick and Webb from the 10/8’s – many thanks guys you were a great help.
Our opposition could only field 7 players today and to their credit they played extremely well and fought hard. Our first two goals came early in the first half with Joshua Scheuber and Jadon both scoring one each. We weren’t so lucky in the second half and even though we scored two more goals they were both ruled offside, which was unfortunate. Man of the match went to Jadon, who, fresh back from holidays played a terrific game.

U11/5 lose 1-6 vs Roselea
Posted by Editor in Under 11/5
15th April 5:10 pm

Game 1 - 14/4/7

SCORERS: Joshua McAdam

A tough match today against Roselea who fielded some very good players and beat us 6 -1.
We could only put together 8 of our team members due to school holidays, but were helped out by Tim Woodgate from the 9/6’s and Alex Genovese from the U8’s (many thanks guys, your help was greatly appreciated) making 10.
We appeared to be a little rusty and certainly very tired by half time. Our opposition had already put away 3 goals in the first and went on to score another 3 in the second half. We had a moment of glory when Joshua McAdam scored our one and only goal. A special mention has to go to Jordan who did a sterling job as goalie in the second half – he was fearless and earned himself Man of the Match for his efforts. Everyone played very well and I’m sure the team will come together nicely over the next few weeks.
