Semi Final Round 2 (9/8/08)
SCORERS: Joshua McAdam
Every time Pacific Hills 12/5 comes up against WPH this year, you know it’s going to be a tough match, and this was no exception. Our team was a little bit stunned to be down 0-1 at half time, but after a rousing pep talk at half time they went out fired up to take back control of the match. Time rolled on and still the score was against us. Then with minutes to go, Josh lifted a screamer over the head of the goalkeeper to get us back into the match. Whether or not this is our last match for the season, it’s been a fantastic year, and every player can hold their heads up proudly. Well done!
Best Players: Because of the comeback we decided to award the honour to the whole team. I know it rather defeats the purpose, but there wasn’t a player on the field who didn’t give 100%.

Week 12 (21/6/08) played 26/7/08
SCORERS: Caleb Vinson
We had a shaky start to the game, but great teamwork saw Caleb sneak past the goalie to put us a goal up about halfway through the first half. Aaron was tested in goals on many occasions, but he held firm. It’s really tough to pick out one player each week, when everyone gives 100%. Well done everybody.
Best Player: Mitchell Webb, putting his body on the line (literally) to defend our position.

Week 14 (5/7/08)
SCORERS: Jordan Soliman , Jack Robertson
We were a little rusty this weekend, a few players coming back from illness, but two goals in the first half sealed the result, and the team looks set for a strong finish to the season.
Best Player: Aaron Venhuizen for his work in goals.

Week 13 (28/6/08)
Normanhurst once again proved to be a tough opponent, and the winter has really knocked out teamnumbers around, but at least everyone got a full game. Special mention to Mitchell for suiting up, even though he was really too ill to take the field. Good team spirit. We had a few “close calls” shooting at goals, but didn’t quite convert the situation. Jordan’s goalkeeping skills prevailed under some strong offence in the first half.Overall a good finish against a surprisingly tough opposition

U12/5 vs Eastwood St Andrews: W 2-0

Week 11 (14/6/08)
SCORERS: Jack Robertson (1), Jordan Soliman (1)
Winter is taking its toll this week, and we started out 3 players down, unfortunately most of our back line was down with the flu. After some reorganization our usual opening saw Jack force the STA goalkeeper into an error and concede the point.
Towards the end of the first half, Jordan scored his first goal of the season after some good work from Calvin and Caleb. There were a couple of “close calls”, but credit to the St Andrews goalkeeper for keeping us to 2:0 at halftime.
The second half saw Aaron’s goalkeeping skills put to the test again, and he proved up to the challenge.
The whole team played well against an tough opposition. It’s very hard to single out one “player of the week”. I’d like to say that everyone put in a great effort. However, Calvin takes the trophy this week for his solid performance all game.

Game 9 (31/5/08)
SCORERS: Caleb Vinson (1), Joshua McAdam (1)
We expected Roselea to come out fired up after our first round match with them, and they did. Quick thinking by Jack and Caleb saw Caleb seize an opportune goal early on, with Josh following up later in the first half to make the score 2:0 at half time.
The second half was a tough encounter. Jordan’s goal keeping skills were put to the test on several occasions, and he delivered the goods.
Overall a satisfying result and well-earned victory for a team which is coming along in leaps and bounds. Let’s keep our heads down for the next match.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK Joshua McAdam. For his goal and all-round commitment in the game. As nominated by parents watching the match.

Game 8 (24/5/08)
SCORERS: Caleb (1), Josh (1), Jack (2)
Last time we faced Epping we came away 6:0 down, and they were undefeated. Less than a minute into the game Jack sneaked a goal past their keeper, Josh followed up not long after. At half time the score was 2:1. Epping came back hard in the second half and Aaron’s goalkeeping skills were put to the test again and again, but he prevailed. Later in the game, Jack scored his second goal for the match and Caleb rounded the score out nicely.
Without doubt, this was the best game of the year so far against a strong opponent. The whole team rose to the challenge.
Best player: Jonathan Lee, for his continued strong efforts.

After a slow start we ended the first half at 1-0. After regrouping, the team played in a much more coordinated spirit and finished with another 11 unanswered goals in the second half.
Best players: Jack and Caleb.

Game 2 (12/4/08)
SCORERS: Caleb Vinson (2), Evan Kelso (1), Roselea Player (1)
What a difference a week makes to the team. Caleb was awarded player of the match for his two goals, but there were no poor performances. Everyone played as a team. Aaron Venhuizen was excellent in goals as well. A well-deserved result, that was a long time coming for some of these kids.

The score doesn’t reflect the game performance of the team. The team played well against a strongly organized opposition.
