Week 4 (10 May)

A demolition job early on Mothers day from the Pumas this week. We open up minus Aaron who is still in hospital and Priddy out with a knee injury. However our 2 subs were more than enough against a Gunners team without any subs who quickly tired as we ran them around. Some good early pressure saw plenty of shots, eventually Erik putting away a long range pigeon, followed by Dru with a long range penguin. Ranga then put us 3-0 up going into the break. Second half was much the same, with our mids and forwards keeping possession, moving it on the ground and creating a mountain of opportunity. Nicho received a well worked wing attack from Erik & Fitzy, muffing his shot but saw it trickle past the keeper anyway. Southy then pounced on a poor goal kick, putting away an easy open chance. Clayts and Southy changed up the keeper role, Clayton celebrating with a maximum $5 fine for missing an absolute sitter on the line. Stathis joined in the fun, also fattening the purse with a miss. But with the amount of chances we were creating, some chances were always going to go begging. An own goal and two goals of increasing class from Nicho polished off his hattrick and the game. A suburb game from the boys who moved the ball around at pace, especially rebounding off the backline and finishing our shots when we needed to, racking up a good score to rebound from last weeks tough match. A clean sheet with 2 shots on goal was again a great effort from our backs, staying water tight yet again.
