Game 1 - 21/4/07
SCORERS: Ethan Pemberton = 1
A spirited start to the soccer season for our team this week consisting of five boys and our two girls. Faced with a keen opposition (who seemed physically quite large!) and a couple of ours on holidays, we were kept running all game by the Putney Rangers with minimal substitution.
A brilliant goal by Ethan Pemberton during the first half kept our spirits high and he was assisted by his team mates James Cairns and William Dearden in setting this one up. Thomas Dickinson did family name proud with some very good runs with the ball and a few very good intercepts, as did Sarah Cairns who has put into practice some of the great skills she has learnt at training.
Aidan Sumskas showed some very good goal keeping skills during the second half saving the ball from entering goals no less than 5-6 times. Our player of the week, Keira Bower had 2-3 very brave intercepts of the ball sending it on all occasions in the direction of the goals. This put into practice some of the skills we have been learning at training over the last 4 weeks.
Thanks parents for your great support and Rob Bower for refereeing the entire game!
